Short Films: BIG IDEAS Symposium is Back with a Vengeance!
Y’all ready for this?
After months of planning, the CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival Symposium team is ready to unlock a treasure trove of networking and professional development opportunities at the annual Short Films: BIG IDEAS Symposium.
I’m BEYOND excited to see what happens when you mix creative and entrepreneurial artists with a dazzling line-up of panels and events designed to stimulate creativity and create beneficial connections.
Whether you’re a producer looking for money, partners or exhibition opportunities; a writer in need of a few tips to tweak your script or funding applications; or a director debating the merits of new technologies and creative collaborations – Short Films: BIG IDEAS holds valuable insights for each member of your filmmaking team.
There’s no question the filmmaking landscape is changing, so we’ve gone global in our search to find a diverse range of presenters to provide expert intel at 24 scheduled events.
The Working Lab, Power of Pennies (film funding) and They Shoot, They Score! (music and film) panels are a few of the not-to-be missed sessions which launch Day 1 with a bang.
Each day forward will present a unique array of presentations and networking opportunities. I invite you to check out our website for the complete schedule details.

The Programmers Den and The Feedback Loop panels make a comeback this year with a bit of fine-tuning to recognize current market trends. We’ve upp’d the ante by introducing a new session - the Buyers & Distributors Roundtable, which will provide Symposium delegates’ one-on-one access to international short film decision-makers with coin in their pocket.
We end on a high note with Richard Crouse moderating the must-attend Master Class with Jean-Marc Vallée followed by an afternoon chock full of panels to demystify production mysteries, minefields and unknowns.
My island sensibilities tell me this is going to be an exciting and magical four days guaranteed to get your filmmaking juices flowing and passions realized.
I’ll be ready and eager to see you there!
