WSFF Is Here!
CAUTION: SHORT FILMS TAKING OVER TORONTO
You’ve waited with baited breath and it’s finally here - the 2012 CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival kicks off today, and our minds are abuzz with all the screening opportunities that Torontonians have at their fingertips this week. It’s not so much what to see as it is how to see it all…
With a price tag of $10 a program (up to 24 movies screening at each) and the quality of our shorts from around the world, the value of these events is unparalleled.
If you’re feeling like a kid in a candy store and unsure of what to pick, here’s is a list of some must-sees for festival week:
- Official Selection: X-Ray Spex: With Friday night and Sunday evening screenings, this off-the-wall program brings all kinds of sexy time, a real case of the hangries and an assortment of other extreme hallucinations and revelations. Don’t get it? That’s ok. Go see it anyway, you won’t regret it.
- Date Night: Towering Shorts Edition: This could be the best deal in town. After screening some of the most love-induced shorts at festival, take a ride up the CN Tower with your honey and have some dessert and drinks from Horizon’s Restaurant. And you’ll get all this for less than the admission price to the Tower on a normal day.
- The Night Shift: 4 hours of movie marathon insanity. A little bit of crazed late night confusion, a lot of gore, throw in some free cupcakes and coffee and you have a helluva magical night in store!
- Short Films: BIG IDEAS Symposium: With panels, feedback loops and master classes (featuring Jean-Marc Vallée, the mind behind C.R.A.Z.Y. and Café de Flore) galore, there’s something enlightening to be had by all. Whether it’s a matter of professional development or you’re just having a love-affair with the film industry, be sure to check these out!
There is so much more for you to see and explore. Don’t know where to start? Pick a time and mosey to a theatre. With a ton of options in each screening- there are sure to be several for you to enjoy!
Make sure to tweet us at @WSFF with your favourite flicks and celeb sitings throughout the festival, and don’t forget to hashtag it #wsff12!
See you at the movies!
